MEET OUR CARING VETS
Dr. Kristy Mounts
Dr. Mounts is from the small town of Oak Grove, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana Tech University and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. She then attended LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, and graduated in 2006 with a doctorate in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Mounts began her veterinary career at a fast-paced mixed animal hospital. After 2 years of practice, she joined the PetStar team in Ruston, focusing on small animal medicine, surgery, and ultrasonography. In January 2017, Dr. Mounts became the business owner of PetStar Animal Care in Ruston.
Dr. Mounts is grounded by faith and family. She is driven by her compassion for animals, and strives to provide the best care for her patients. Dr. Mounts enjoys spending time with her husband Bobby and children Paxton and Paisley. She also enjoys playing with her energetic dog Oakey and caring for her cats, Jake and Ariel.

Dr. Bethany Bailey
Dr. Bethany Bailey was born and raised in Minden, LA. She received her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Louisiana Tech in 2011. She then earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in 2015.
She has worked in small animal practice and completed a fellowship in shelter medicine. She joined the PetStar team in 2017. Her special interests include dermatology, oncology, and behavior. She enjoys getting to know her patients and seeing them grow and thrive throughout their lifetime. She is an advocate for proactive preventive health care to help keep pets happy and healthy as they age.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Colin and their son William. They are members at Ruston Church of Christ and she is also an active member in Junior Auxiliary of Ruston. They have quite a few dogs and cats at home that keep them busy and entertained.
Dr. Erin Holt
Dr. Erin Holt is originally from Charleston, South Carolina but was raised in a military family and has lived in several cities. She attended undergraduate school at Auburn University and University of Tennessee and received a Bachelor's in Psychology. She then attended the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2019 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and a Master's in Public Health.
Before working in veterinary medicine, Dr. Holt worked as a manager in a telecommunications company, and she was a poker dealer for the World Series of Poker. In 2007, she won the $200 buy in no limit hold'em women's event taking home $27,060 which allowed her to pay for her undergraduate
education. Although wearing many hats previously, she is glad to now have a profession that she is
proud of where she can give back to a community. Dr. Holt started her veterinary career with the PetStar family in 2019. She is interested in soft tissue surgery and preventative medicine. She strives to take excellent care of her patients and communicate well with her clients to get them involved in at home care.
In her free time, Dr. Holt likes to garden, workout on her Peloton bike, and play video games. She
cherishes getting to spend time with her husband of 13 years, Uriah, and their fur babies. Dr. Holt
currently has two French Bulldogs, Teddy and Juniper, and a very long-legged mixed breed dog names
Abner. She also has two guinea pigs, Persimmon and Amaru.
Dr. Trey Underwood
Dr. Trey Underwood was born and raised in Bossier City, LA. He received his bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Louisiana Tech University in 2000. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in 2004.
Dr. Underwood's veterinary career began in Ruston as an associate at All Creatures Animal Hospital. He purchased the practice in October 2006, and launched the PetStar concept. In August of 2012, he brought that concept to Natchitoches. Dr. Underwood has a mission to bring quality veterinary care to North Central Louisiana and will strive to treat your pets as if they were his own.
As a devoted father and husband, Dr. Underwood enjoys spending time with lovely wife, Jessica, and beautiful daughters, Olivia and Gracelyn, and his son, Tucker. He also loves to hang out with his two black labs, Trick and Scoop, and his tailless cat, Montey.
